SBM Launches its Executive Education Program

4 December, 2011

The AUA School of Business and Management offered its inaugural management development and executive education seminar on December 3 and 4, 2011. The seminar was organized in the framework of the Graduate Certificates of Business Leadership; a new program launched by SBM. The first module related to Customer Relationship Management and was taught by Dr. Mario Missakian.

The course exposed participants to both the theoretical underpinnings of CRM as well as their practical applications. It covered the various critical steps necessary to undertake a successful CRM project and equipped the participants with the tools needed to examine their current company position and move towards a true customer orientation.

The seminar was primarily intended for the professionals who would like to explore CRM and assess its applicability to their operations. Participants were from leading Armenian organizations and companies such as World Vision, Armeconombank, Cascade Insurance, Gritti and AUA.

For winter and spring quarters 2012, SBM is planning to offer courses in various topics including supply chain management, knowledge management, strategic brand management, managerial negotiations and strategic investment analysis. Each seminar will be offered over a weekend, will last 8 hours, and will carry 1 credit unit. It is worth noting that in order to earn the SBM Graduate Certificate in Business Leadership (GCBL), the participant must complete twelve modules.

According to Eric Guevorkian, interim dean of SBM, the GCBL addresses the needs of mid to upper level managers, corporate executives, business owners and entrepreneurs with a focused quality program that would allow them to meet the ever-evolving challenges of the business environment. The program is ideal for those who want to acquire a deeper knowledge of the material without committing to a full MBA program.

The SBM executive seminars provide participants with ample opportunity for substantive interaction with highly qualified faculty
