AUA invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost. AUA is a privately endowed independent American institution of higher education in the Republic of Armenia, and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Responsibilities: Reporting directly to President, the position will provide leadership in academic planning, development, assessment, and implementation. The successful candidate will have a commitment and capacity to evaluate continuously and enhance the University’s academic programs to ensure excellence, growth and competitiveness; manage the academic budgeting process; promote the university’s core values; demonstrate the ability to think and act strategically; be innovative; establish positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, community, government and private sector; and to lead organizational change initiatives using data-driven decision making methodology. The provost will also be responsible for representing the university in scholarly publications and conferences focusing on international education and other matters germane to the growth of AUA.
Qualifications: Candidates must have strong academic and leadership credentials; evidence of successful teaching; research and administrative abilities; financial management skills; an earned doctorate degree; a strong track record of research, as evidenced by past research publications; senior faculty and academic management experience. Knowledge of grant application and administration is essential. Previous experience in conducting academic duties in an international setting and knowledge of Armenia, NIS countries and the Middle East is desirable but not required.
Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to reside in Armenia. It will require interaction with the U.S. Embassy, the Armenian government, and various funding agencies; it will also require coordination for joint programs with other universities.

Part-time position in DEP
DUTIES:
- Work closely with DEP associate dean
- Conduct and schedule recruitment activities for DEP programs
- Respond to/manage email inquiries
- Initiate/maintain contact (telephone, email) with DEP applicants
- Maintain DEP applications excel spreadsheets
- Manage and run AUA open houses for DEP
- Go on recruitment trips as needed
- Manage and monitor currently enrolled 2nd year students’ progress on capstone projects
- Schedule capstone defenses
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold MA from US accredited or US university
- Experience in student recruitment
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Thorough familiarity with the DEP MA TEFL program
- Able to hold office hours 4 days a week
- Able to start immediately.

DUTIES:
- Oversees facilities services operation in AUA buildings. Assists with AUA offices outside Yerevan.
- Monitors daily management of building maintenance/operation systems and facility services, including but not limited to:
- heating, ventilation and air-conditioning
- lighting
- fire alarm/security
- elevators
- boilers
- utilities (gas, water)
- building repair/carpentry
- housekeeping.
- Develops annual maintenance plans for facilities to include daily, weekly, monthly, and annual tasks related to building systems maintenance and cleaning. Keeps up-to-date documentation provided by manufacturers for all equipment and facilities. For equipment and facilities in all buildings, uses the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines for maintenance and cleaning. Keeps up-to-date records of all maintenance performed.
- Assesses at the commencement of employment as Facility Manager and, thereafter, annually the job descriptions and qualifications of all employees in the Facilities Department. Makes recommendations for changes in staff positions, including need for new positions, removing current positions, and reassignment of employees. Makes recommendations for training needs of employees.
- Manages construction/renovation projects including but not limited to:
- conducting marketing research
- controlling related procurements
- arranging for project staffing/recruitment
- performing daily control over project activities
- performing related quality assurance.
- Prepares/reviews the needed documentation related to ASHA/USAID grants’ including new projects’ budgets, CPDs (Conditions prior to disbursement), design drawings, bidding package, reports.
- Prepares budgets for facility services based on detailed need assessments and assures overall control of expenses and periodic fiscal evaluations of the budget and expenditures.
- Develops and maintains a schedule for supply procurement that meets the needs and high standards of all buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor(s).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or other qualified field
- Fluency in English, Armenian, and Russian.
- Computer skills (MS Office, AutoCAD, database management).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in facility operations coordination including at least of 1 year of supervisory experience
