GRE Preparation Course
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is taken by prospective graduate students of the Colleges of Engineering & Health Sciences, School of Business & Management, and School of Political Science and International Affairs of the American University of Armenia, as well as individuals applying to graduate programs abroad in fields that include natural sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts, education, and several others. The GRE is designed to provide admission committees with a standardized measure of the potential academic performance of prospective students.
GRE test-developers have redesigned the exam to better reflect the skills that one should have for success in graduate school. For example, the test now allows the use of an online calculator, which lessens the focus on arithmetic calculation skills. The structure of the exam has also changed. Formerly, there were three distinct parts to the test: Writing, Verbal, and Quantitative; now there are five sections: one Writing; two Verbal; and two Quantitative sections.
The GRE is now a modified Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) .
About the AUA GRE Preparation Course
This course is intended for prospective graduate school applicants who are preparing for the
Quantitative section of GRE. This section of the GRE includes the following basic areas: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry (no proofs), and Data Analysis.
