Find a Book | DDC | Browse Fiction & More | Library Map | Trace Request

This guide will help you become more familiar with the library. It lists places and people to turn to for help. With your library card you have access to extensive and varied collections and services. If you have questions, ask any staff member. We hope that your library experience is both beneficial and enjoyable.

First Floor

The first floor of AUA Papazian Library houses the Circulation and Reference services, part of the library collection and the administrative offices of the Library. OPAC terminals (Graphical Online Public Access Catalog) are also found here.

Circulation Service

For the general public materials from the librarys open stacks may be checked out at the circulation desk for a 2-week loan, limited to 2 books per person. AUA students can check out 4 books at a time for a 2-week period. The faculty may borrow items for a 3-month period. The Circulation Desk is open from Monday through Friday 9am-9pm and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-6pm. You may also place a HOLD on any item currently on loan to another patron. When the item is returned, you will be notified that the item is being held for you. The fine for overdue items from the open stacks as well as textbooks is 100 drams per item, per day.

Reference Service

The Reference librarian is happy to help you find information at any time. Ask for help whether you need to locate books, newspapers (local and international) or back issues of various journals. Current issues are displayed in the Reading Room. All reference materials as well as serials are non-circulated items and are to be used in the library.

The Online Catalog: GOPAC

If you want to find the location and call number of a book, journals, or other library materials in the University Library, consult the librarys computerized catalog, GOPAC. This is a circulation system, which can be searched by author, title and subject.

The main collection of the library system is housed in the open stacks and available for public use. The shelves are located on both the first and ground floors.
