Tuition and Fees

Applicants should consider carefully the financing of their education at AUA from the time of their admission to the completion of their degree.  Students in degree programs sign a contract with AUA upon enrollment which establishes tuition for the duration of the contract. Check with the Office of the Registrar for the latest tuition schedule. All fees are paid in AMD.
At the time of registration, applicants are classified as R.A. citizens, long-term R.A. residents or international students in accord with the laws of Armenia.  
The tuition fee for students enrolled full time in Degree Programs in 2011-2012 is:

• R.A. citizens and long-term residents (with 10-year visa) of Armenia : 960,000 AMD per year or 320,000 AMD per quarter
• International students:  3,300,000 AMD per year or 1,100,000 AMD per quarter.

AUA will base its assessment of tuition on the following definitions of time status:

• Full-time students pay a flat fee, AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. Full-time enrollment is defined as 12-18 credit hours per quarter.  As the Department of Law offers a part-time, evening program, full-time enrollment for LL.M. students is defined as 8-10 credit hours per quarter.
• Part-time students are assessed a per credit fee, calculated as the flat fee divided by 12 for all courses excluding Law which is divided by 8.
• Students taking more than the (prescribed) MAXIMUM number of units per quarter in their program (18 units, 10 in Law Department) will be assessed a per unit fee for additional units.
• Tuition for courses taken by Non-Degree Students shall be calculated according to the University tuition calculations for part-time STUDENTS.

The tuition fee payment schedule will be posted by the Office of the Registrar on a quarterly basis.  Fees may be refunded if students withdraw from enrollment provided they file a Petition to Withdraw by the second week of classes or before 20% of instruction time has elapsed for course running shorter than a full quarter.  Tuition fees will not be refunded after the second week of classes or after the 20% limit has been passed, as is applicable.
