The AUA Alumni Reunion Dinner 2005

The Annual Alumni Reunion Dinner is one of the most interesting and desired events in our Alma Mater. This is a day when the different generations of AUA graduates come together to meet their old friends, beloved professors and, of course, to fete the new graduating class and the faculty.

This year the reunion took place in the Valencia Banquet Hall on September 30. The festivities opened with affectionate hugs followed by welcome drinks.

This time-honored event had a touch of the new as well. It was somewhat unique as was full of exiting surprises provided by our respected sponsors: Czech Airlines&Visa Concord, Zepter International, Tufenkian Heritage Hotels, Business Support Center, Kotayk Brewery and Euroterm.

Moreover, everyone enjoyed the presence of such famous Armenian stars as Arthur Ispirian, Leyla Saribekyan and Sona Avagyan, who really brightened the colors of that wonderful evening. And, already beloved Sofi Devoyan’s “Soul and Dance Theater” delighted the audience with Armenian folk and contemporary dances.

Another AUA tradition is the recognition of honorable members of the AUA Alumni Association. Dr. Steve Maradian , Mr.Vartkes Barsam, Dr. Carol Aslanian and Dr. Judson King were announced the 2005 honorees.

Some notables at the Dinner: this year there were two occasions for celebration: the 10 th anniversary of establishment of the College of Health Sciences; and the 10 th anniversary of the first graduating class of the School of Political Sciences and International Affairs. Moreover, everybody was happy to host the AGBU and WASC team representatives.

The AUA ACDO and the Alumni Association Board can bask in the reward of a successful host: all left with the promise of strengthened ties for the future. And, the lucky winners of the prizes were very appreciated with the great day full of surprises.
