Academic Programs and Research Center

The Department of English Programs at AUA offers a professional M.A. program in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (M.A. TEFL) and three Certificates: Teaching English as a Foreign Language (C-TEFL), Translation from Armenian to English and vice-versa C-TR, and Teaching English to Young Learners C-TEFL-YL). The curricula of these programs follow closely the requirements and standards of similar courses and degree offerings at institutions in the United States and elsewhere.

The department is also actively engaged in research through the Center for Excellence, Innovation, Research, and Development in TEFL (CIERD-TEFL) (for further information please click here).

To honor Professor Marianne Celec-Murcia as the Dean in the shaping of the DEP, she was presented a plaque celebrating her sincere services and devotion to AUA.
